Bad Genius tells the story of Lynn (Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying), a top secondary school student who lives at home with her father. She is accepted into a very prestigious school and is able to earn a scholarship because of her academic achievements. It is there that she befriends the well-willing but not so academically talented Grace (Eisaya Hosuwan). Lynn helps Grace to cheat on the school exams, for money, to score better grades. Through Grace, she is approached by Pat (Teeradon Supapunpinyo), Grace’s rich boyfriend and slowly but surely she ends up helping a lot of students to score better with the tests for payment. Even though they are discovered by Bank (Chanon Santinatornkul) and outed to the school board, they decided to cheat on the STIC —an international standardized test for university admissions— for which they need the help of Bank and all others to be part of their scheme. A nerve-wracking international race against the clock ensues as they depart to Australia to do the tests whilst keeping their constituents in Thailand up to date. Will they make it?

The acting performances were very believable and real. There is absolutely no overacting. We are introduced to two characters who come from families who do not have the highest incomes, but they are smart and intelligent. Besides that, we get to know two rich and obliviously spoiled characters, who believe that money can buy them anything. Even good grades and cheating an international standardized university exam. There’s no doubt that the actors play their roles well. Even though they all looked a bit too perfect, looks wise. But nonetheless, their magic is placed in the believability that they maintained and the feeling of excitement, adrenaline, and nervosity that they raise in you as a spectator.

The cinematography of this film is very accurate and fitting for the telling of this story. The cinematography maintained a fast-paced rhythm especially around the most exciting scenes, which enhanced the thrill of the story, but also the feeling that so many things could go wrong. Forcing you to sit on the edge of your seat while you hope that their plans succeed.

Bad Genius is a must-see movie that will absolutely blow your mind away. If you are too stuck in Hollywood cinema and western culture films you should definitely give this film a chance because this masterpiece will make you appreciate Asian cinema a lot more. Go back to school with this film and join it’s ride because never ever has mathematics and school exams been so thrilling and exciting.

The Review and Moral Value of Film 5cm

Title                     : 5cm
Genre                   : Fiction
Director               : Rizal Mantovani
Year                     : 2012
Stars                     : Zafran (Herjunot Ali),
     Genta (Fedy Nuril),
     Riani (Raline Shah),
     Arial (Denny Sumargo),
    Ian (Igor Saykoji)
The story started by introducing the setting of the movie. It was around Cikini ( Chicken Porridge Seller), In this place a story about friendship grew for many years. It was about a friendship between five different persons they were Zafran ( Herjunot Ali), Arial (Denny Sumargo), Ian (Igor Saykoji), Riani (Raline Shah), Genta (Fedi Nuril). Each of them has different characters for example: Arial, he was look like a Rambo and always brought ketchup every where he go. Ian, he was fat and like to eat noodles and always watched porn movies . Riani, the most beautiful woman between them, she likes to drink noodles soup that she asked from Ian. Zafran, he was a poem lover. And the last is Genta, he has a good live and a good work.
And the next, the movie continued to Arial’s house. They met with arial’s parents and arial’s sister, her name is Arinda she usually called Dinda. Zafran fell in love with Zafran at the first sight. They usually gathered in the Arial’s  garden house.  There Genta told to his friend about his idea, he asked his friends to go out from the box for three months. And then they dealt for three months without any communication between them until Genta give an information about where they will suppose to meet again and Genta promised to invite his friends to do something in some place so they can get unforgettable experience that they ever had.
After three months later, finally Genta contact his friends and made an appointment to meet in Senen Train Station, there they don’t have any idea about what will be happen until they arrived in a strange location for them. It was Sumeru Mountain. One week before they meet, Genta asked his friends to bring some hiking equipments such as: carier, tent, lamp, some snack and do small exercise before they go. They started their adventure and continued the journey to Bromo and then they started to climb the highest mountain In Java Island, Mahameru Mountain. Their journey was not well, they met some problems, Zafran’s leg suddenly bleeding, they had lack of water in the middle of journey, Arial almost died because of the worst cold. Arinda and Ian hit some rocks from the top of the mountain. Arinda’s ears bleeding until she couldn’t hear anything, and Ian had unconscious and it made his friends panic and predicted that he was died. After they fought with a great problems finally they can reach the top of Mahameru Mountain, they flagged the Indonesian’s flag there.

I like this movie because it introduced each of the characters by taking unique point of view, it makes the audience can feel the joy of the movie. Especially when introducing Ian with his noodles and porn movies . The friendship between them is filled with love story during their journey to Mahameru Mountain, it was so funny and full of love. The movie was good and funny but the story is not too deep. Especially about nationalism messages. The love story is not clear so the audience still confused and not satisfied, because the movie is not full just like the novel. But this movie is worth to be watched for relaxing and to open our mind about how beautiful is Indonesia.

A young girl named So-won lives an idyllic life with her working class parents Dong-hoon and Mi-hee. One day on her way to school, So-won is kidnapped, beaten and raped by a male stranger before being left for death. Fortunately, she survives and is able to call an ambulance.
The police notify Dong-hoon and Mi-hee of the attack and they rush to the emergency ward. Upon their arrival at the hospital, they are horrified by the extent of So-won's injuries. So-won suffers from multiple internal injuries and has to undergo major surgeries. Dong-hoon is advised by a surgeon that So-won will have to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of her life. Once So-won regains consciousness, she is able to identify her attacker with the help of Jung-sook, a psychiatrist.
So-won's attacker is arrested at his home, and the case becomes a media sensation much to the horror of her family and friends. When the reporters converge at the hospital, Dong-hoon takes So-won to a different room and hides her from the media attention. So-won exhibits symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and briefly mistakes her father for her attacker, screaming at him as he tries to fix her colostomy bag. Dong-hoon is heartbroken by this episode, and is further hurt when So-won refuses to look at him or speak to him.
Mi-hee initially refuses psychological help for her daughter as she wishes for So-won to resume her normal life. However, she relents after understanding her daughter's mental state and enlists the help of Jung-sook. Dong-hoon struggles to pay for medical expenses and calls his friend and manager, Gwang-sik, with the intent of quitting his job to help take care of his family.
The film is based on a true story, the infamous Nayoung Case in 2008, in which an 8-year-old girl, named "Na-young" in the Korean press, was raped and beaten by a drunk 57-year-old man in a public toilet. The court sentenced the man to only 12 years in prison, which caused outrage in the country due to the brutality of the crime and the man's history of physical and sexual violence.

The only thing that I want to say is that you should watch this movie. And if you don't watch it, be regret :( I cried a lot, the acting was incredible, totally love the girl. In my thoughts, this may be a movie about father and daughter and I was completely fallen for it! How poor the little girl was, I can't imagine what she had been through! Her acting was very good, I even thought she had really been through that tragedy. And her Father was really really a emotional man, not like what I thought he would be at the beginning! He made me think of my Father and I just cried a lot!
